Well, if we think some of our fellow humans are bad parents, why not take a look at old Mother Nature? Many animals, including the beaver not ‘only’ mate for life, but both the mom and dad take an equal part in raising the kid. Now, you poor saps on Jerry Springer, don’t you feel silly? A little inept maybe? Yeah, we thought so. Oh sure, in beaver life, if one mate dies, the other won’t sit around pining to death, he or she will get set up with another amiable beaver. And this is how it should be. Otherwise the species would die off! And then Aurora would never have reason to release such a fantastic plushie as this. Just look at him. At 8 inches, this kit (what young beavers are called; also yearlings) is so full of charm and spunk that he can’t help but be lovable.

Beavers use those huge front teeth of theirs to bring down trees to use in the construction of dams, canals and lodges (beaver houses). Sometimes they live in a large family group of ten or so. In cases where there is a larger family, there might even be more than one lodge in a pond. Best of all, beavers don’t pollute the waters where they live. While they may have a great impact on a forest in which they live, as well as the waterways, they help remove pollutants and contamination from the water, by the simple virtue of being there. That’s how awesome beavers are. So please, give Aurora a shot and take one of their delightful stuffed animals home today!

  1. I bought this at the aquarium in Corolla NC. I called her Chuchundra, after the character in Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. I’m thinking of adding her to my comic strip that I draw. She’s very cute, and my cousin likes her too!
