With a nickname like the ‘Pharaoh’s Chicken’, you might envision some sort of dynastic KFC in one of the world’s cradles of civilization (specifically ancient Egypt). With a name like that, this scavenger just has to be interesting. He certainly beats the feathers off the Colonel’s chicken, doesn’t he?
An Old World vulture (meaning he’s part of the family of scavenger birds that hail from Asia, Europe and Africa), the Egyptian Vulture is small, with black, white and gray markings that make him particularly distinctive, especially when viewed from the ground.
Wild Republic is known for their efforts regarding animal conservation around the world and educational efforts on behalf of kids , so it’s no wonder that this little fellow has a home among the ranks of their most adorable and fascinating plush toys. The Egyptian Vulture used to be fairly prevalent in the wild, but now, with groups becoming more and more isolated, the population has started to drop. Perhaps it’s just as well then that you have the chance to get your hands on one of your very own kingly scavengers. The birds are particular social in the wild, often roosting in groups, so be sure to get another avian friend to keep him company!
Wild Republic’s ten-inch tall bird is surprisingly expressive for a stuffed animal.
He has a mostly white body, with white and gray wings, bald pink feet, and a ringed tuft of ‘feathers’ around his head, which sports a white and yellow face and yellow beak.
