** Made by Fiesta Toys
** 15 inch
We don’t know about you, but the first thing we think of when we see the name “Frilled Lizard” is that he’s straight out of Elizabethan England. Maybe he was buddies with Shakespeare? “A lizard by any other name would be as scaly.” No? Everybody’s a critic.

The Frilled Lizard might not come from 16th century England, but he sports that awesome frill anyway. He’s actually from northern Australia and southern New Guinea. The lizard only deploys his frill when he’s frightened, or during the mating season(since, you know, mating in the animal kingdom is serious business). He opens his pink or yellow mouth wide, and his frill, which is attached to his jaw by cartilage unfolds to give him a more impressive appearance. Fiesta Toy brings this arboreal (meaning he spends most of his time in trees) lizard to full, rich life. Looking at him, you’d expect him to go chasing after the bugs and invertebrates that make up its diet, or to bask in the sun.

At 15 inches (a little over two feet long), this bad boy is only a little shorter than the real thing. In the wild, Frilled Lizards, or Frilled Dragons as they are sometimes called can grow up to nearly 3 feet long. This makes him one of the biggest members of his family, Agamid, which includes other similar lizards or dragon varieties. He may not be fearsome, but just being called a dragon makes him pretty epic in our book.
