** Stuffed Honduran Palm Viper Snake
** Green and Blue Markings
** Made by Wild Republic
** 52 inch
You’ve heard of palm readers (think fortune tellers), Palm Pilots and palm trees. Now here’s a palm viper! He doesn’t tell the future by looking at your hand or use handy electronics. And if you try and hold him in your palm, he will probably bite you…so, you know, don’t try it. What he does do is lurk in the jungles that he calls home and wait for meals. He has a fair-sized range, extending from southern Mexico down into Central and South America, living as far west as Chile and Peru.
The first thing you will probably notice about this gorgeous snake is his amazing color. With his bright green scales and blue markings, he blends almost seamlessly into the verdant greenery where he lives. In his treetop home, high above the forest floor, he sits and waits for something to come his way, then he strikes with astounding speed. Like all snakes, the pit viper tests his surroundings with his tongue, but also senses nearby animals and soon-to-be meals with infrared pits near his eyes. They allow him to sense the heat given off by living things as opposed to the surrounding environment. If you’ve ever seen an image from a thermal camera, the idea’s the same.
Now that you know so much about this beautiful snake, why not take him home? Wild Republic offers up this 52-inch long reptile that’s a whole lot safer than the real thing and won’t wander off when you handle him. Bonus!
