In the wilds of Africa, which are, you know, mostly brown and yellow and not at all black and white, you’d think the zebra would really be a ‘dropped the ball’ moment for Mother Nature, wouldn’t you?
The last time we checked, white and black stripes kind of clash with pretty much everything in nature. See? Humans aren’t the only ones who occasionally have fits of style fail. But here’s the kicker. Remember, lions (the primary predator of the zebra) are color blind. So, from a distance, all those white and black stripes probably blend together nicely in the high grass. It’s a bit like how dead channels used to come in (like snow) before the digital signal overran everything and all you got was a pseudo BSD (Blue Screen of Death for you Windows users). If you sat far enough away from the TV, the little white dots sorta melted together into a fuzzy white and black blur. But when it comes to zebras, you can’t stop the signal.Everything goes somewhere, and zebras go everywhere (Firefly/Serenity reference FTW). So, if zebras are TVs, does that make lions and crocodiles Food Network Africa fans? We’re picturing zebra ice cream on Iron Chef America/Africa and Alton Brown making up some zebra steaks.
As for our plush friend here, he’s from Kosen, which means when it comes to plush animals, he’s basically top of the line in quality, durability and cuddle-ability. Don’t believe us? Take one home for yourself! At 14 inches long and 13 inches tall, he’s huge, but just right for a snuggle!
