So, you have a Husky for a pet. Maybe even a GSD. They’re amazing, gorgeous animals, right? No doubt. But they don’t hold a candle to canis lupus, the gray wolf. Coyotes? Pfft. Hyenas? Dingos? Fido? What do all these four-legged fellows have in common? They’re all descendants or offshoots of the wolf itself.
Your typical domestic dog has a smaller brain and smaller teeth than a wolf, and its behavior is vastly different. For one thing, domestic dogs for the most part love and interact well with humans. It’s part of their genetic makeup now. The only time they don’t, is when they’ve been poorly socialized. But wolves? Even ones who tend to poach on a farmer’s land for his livestock try to avoid actual human contact as much as possible.
Did you know that wild wolves pair bond? They actually live in nuclear family fashion, with an alpha male and female, their children and possibly subordinate adoptees. It’s actually not all that common for wolves to adopt younger wolves who have no pack of their own, but it can happen. Usually, the wolf in question is still a juvenile, so, is not a threat to the partnership of the alpha pair.
But what does all this mean to you? Or to Wild Replublic’s plushie? Well, just look at him, he’s huge! At 30 inches in length, Jumbo here is the paramount of lupine awesomeness. Wolves are naturally protective of their territory and their pack mates, so you can guarantee that Jumbo stuffed animal will stick by you as ‘his’ pack mate. Wild Republic’s love for nature, and its desire to preserve the animals its plushies represent is well known. When you get a Wild Republic plush animal, you’re getting one of the very best, and all for a good cause. Sounds like a win-win situation to us!
