In 2007 Mark was a part time driver for the 01 Army Chevrolet. Martin shared his ride with Regan Smith for Ginn Racing.

Mark Anthony Martin from Batesville, Arkansas, began his racing career as an early teen on the dirt tracks of his home state. His success moved him to asphalt racing  in the American Speed Association racing series. During his ASA career Mark raced against the likes of Dick Trickle, Jim Sauter and Bobby Allison. Along with rookie of the year, Mark rounded out his ASA career winning twenty two races and four championships; three years in a row in 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1986.

As an overall look at Mark Martin’s career he has 40  NASCAR Cup wins and has finished second in the Sprint Cup Series point standings four times 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2002. After 19 years of racing for Jack Roush, Mark has never been able to capture the championship.

As of today Mark Martin is a driver for Hendrick Motorsports in the #5 Kellogg’s/Carquest Chevrolet Impala SS. Mark has 5 wins, finished in the top 5 12 times, in the top 10 19 times and is currently in 2^nd place in the standings down -118 points behind Jimmie Johnson who holds the lead in the race for the Sprint Cup championship.
