Stuffed Animals Details…
** Stuffed Aardvark
** Made by Leosco
** 14 inch
Look at this adorable little Stuffed Aardvark. He looks a bit like a long-nosed domestic pig, doesn’t he? That’s what the first European settlers to land in Africa thought, too. In fact, the name aardvark comes from the Afrikaans/Dutch for “earth pig”. They’re also called antbears, anteaters (technically a different animal altogether) and Cape anteaters (after the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa).
Aardvarks are nocturnal animals who live in burrows. At dusk, they go hunting for their favorite meal, ants and termites. Keeping their long ears pricked for the sound of predators, they run about, turning their head this way and that to smell for ants. When they find a mound, they tear into it with their sturdy front claws. Then the tenants-soon-to-be-dinner come to investigate what all the fuss is about. Unfortunately, it’s the last thing they’ll do as the aardvark sucks them up with its super long, super sticky tongue! In Africa especially, there are certain species of ants that are downright dangerous to humans and animals alike but the aardvark is fearless in his quest for food.
Leosco’s plush aardvark is made of 100% kid-safe materials with the highest quality standards on the market. This makes for a delightful and durable stuffed animal toy that is sure to be enjoyed for years and years.
This cute plush animal is realistically detailed and silky soft to the touch with short brown ‘fur’. His head and snout are white with long pink ears and a stubby white tail. There’s even a neat little card that gives some fun information and facts about this most unique of critters.
