Oh no! A spider! A freakin’ huge spider! Oh, relax will ya? Quentin here is as safe as houses. He might nibble, but it’s a love bite, okay? Here’s a little tip (unlike Mr. Pink, we’re willing to give one), tarantulas are basically harmless to humans. Those who ‘can’ bite us only have us feeling out of sorts for a few days at that. So you’ve got nothing to worry about.
Picture if you will, your hairy little friend (well okay, not so little in this case, he is 16 inches long). He’s minding his own business, when a big bad bug comes buzzing by. Now, tarantulas don’t build webs, but they do spin silk. Sometimes this is to help reinforce their burrows, other times, it’s to build a ‘tent’. (The species of tarantula who lives in trees build this kind of shelter). Our furry friend here might just pounce on the big bad and make short work of it, using his own version of the same move The Bride used against Bill. Don’t believe us? Just look at this guy. He’s huge. You would have to be crazy to go against something like that.
Of course even the largest real tarantula isn’t as big as this guy, at whopping 16 inches in length, but even the biggest one can take down birds and lizards. Not just bugs. Now that’s something to be proud of. In contrast with the violent movies his human counterpart makes, Quentin Tarantula is as cuddly as any plush. Furthermore, if cuddliness is related to size, then that means the bigger the plushie, the more awesome and snuggly it is.
