One of the most unique creatures in the world, the aardvark, which is native to Africa, looks a bit like a pig. In fact, the name aardvark comes from the language (Afrikaans/Dutch) of early European settlers who thought he looked like a domestic pig. They called him “earth pig” (aarde earth, varken pig). They may look like pigs, but aardvarks are more closely related to various species that live in the same geographical area – mostly plant or insect-eating creatures, like elephants and hyraxes. The aardvark is a solitary creature, preferring to hunt for his food (ants) at night. Just look at him. Have you ever seen anything quite so odd and fun?
As for this adorable plush animal, he is brown with a white underbelly, white patches around the eyes and a black ridge running along his back. Check out those super long pink ears. These help him listen for predators while he’s stuffing his face full of ants. As for the ants, look at that crazy long snout! He has a very long sticky tongue (maybe he’s a fan of Gene Simmons?) that is absolutely perfect for scooping up ants after he digs into their mound with his specially adapted front feet.
Hansa’s cuddly and lovable ant-eating mammal is made from 100% kid-friendly materials, with the highest quality and care available. What makes this one even more special is that they designed him based on images and models of the real thing! Realism is awesome. You may not have to feed him ants, but he’ll still enjoy a snuggle now and then, and he makes a fantastic addition to your little zoo.
