And here is our personal favorite horse. It’s the Arabian, who hails, as you might expect, from the Arabian Peninsula.

Arabians are easily among the most distinctive horses. They carry their tail high, and have fine features that are unlike those of other breeds. The nomadic Bedouin peoples of the Arabian Peninsula didn’t keep the horses as pets. In fact, their relationship with these specially bred and highly prized horses was one of mutual love and respect. The horses were trained and bred to work well, and live cooperatively with humans. It goes without saying that being bred in a desert environment, they were very well-suited to the sands and arid climate. So highly valued was the Arabian that owners would often bring the horse into the family enclosure or tent at night to protect it against theft and the elements. But when you live in an environment where excess isn’t an option, you make the most of what you have, and take care of it.

Because of how they were bred initially (only even-tempered horses were allowed to breed), modern day Arabians are good-natured and are one of the best mounts suited to riding by kids. Not many breeds can say that. But despite the placid demeanor, they’re also so-called ‘hot-blooded’ horses too. This comes out in their high intelligence which in addition to making them easy to train, also means they will not tolerate mistreatment or will pick up bad habits if allowed to do so.

Russ Berrie Yomiko captures the undeniable beauty, grace and power of this iconic horse just for you. Snuggly and soft, these stuffed Arabian comes in multiple sizes, 11 and 8 inches respectively. RB’s Arabians have dark coats white faces and hooves as well as the large, shiny, intelligent eyes that the breed is so known for.
