Two words which sum up this disease quite nicely: Itchy, and contagious. Wow, this disease is no fun. Having had it as a Freshman in high school, we got lucky because we got to lay in bed and watch TV and read all day. Best of all, we got to eat CoCo Puffs and Apple Jacks all the time too. It was great until someone had the bright idea to bring us our homework! Gah!

Whimsical and fun, this plush microbe is shaped loosely like a chicken head. It’s got a round white plush body, two big yellow and black eyes, and a red waddle-like growth that runs all the way around it. It comes with a little tag that tells you all about it – where it comes from, how you can catch it, what happens to you when you do, and how you can fight it off. Thankfully it’s one of those diseases that once you get it, chances are you won’t get it again. Nor is it particularly dangerous (unless you have really bad health or a compromised immune system). It’s just really annoying. First you get the weird zit-like bumps, then they start to itch, then you might get a fever too. Nausea, headache and muscle pain are also common. Both kids and adults can get it, but it’s more severe in adults. Thankfully we were still a kid when we got it. That’s not something we’d wish on anyone. Well, maybe on that one kid from grade school. Ah, who’re we kidding? Given how super contagious it is, he probably got it too.
