“… to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.” These terrible and now famous last words of an insane, vengeful, albeit fictitious man with a heart full of fury help the tale from which they spring live on as one of the world’s best known works of literature. And who better than Herman Melville to introduce a great white whale?

Ahab, Aurora’s plush whale is not nearly as big, as dangerous or as inclined to induce a lifelong quest for vengeance as Melville’s eponymous creature – Captain Ahab’s nemesis, the white leviathan, Moby Dick. Quite the contrary in fact. Known for their quality as much as their attention to detail, Aurora’s stuffed plush Ahab is every bit as sweet, cuddly and lovable as Melville’s force of nature was not. Moby Dick was a great white (actually albino) sperm whale. They’re called that because of a particular substance that they produce which has a consistency similar to a certain bodily fluid. (If you haven’t figured it out, go look up a biology text book).

Sperm whales are not the largest whale (that’s the blue whale) but they ‘are’ the largest toothed mammal in the world. “Yea, foolish mortals, Noah’s flood is not yet subsided; two thirds of the fair world it yet covers.” Which is especially fitting, since the sperm whale is one of the most widely distributed, if not the most widely distributed whale in the animal kingdom. But you don’t need Ishmael (Ahab’s first mate) to tell you the tale. You can very easily make up your own.

Aurora’s stuffed plush animals are 100% kid-friendly, durable, super cuddly whale is all for having great adventures with you that will last a lifetime.
