Oh my God! Real Life Science has finally done what only wizards and evil scientific organizations straight out of fiction have ever managed to do. It’s a Quagga!
Wait, what’s a Quagga?
It’s a mishmash of a zebra, a horse, and probably more than a little evil. Somebody whipped it up in the lab, thinking that they’d improve on both zebras and horses and well…they succeeded a little too well. Oh? You don’t believe us? Well, would you believe then that the quagga is actually an extinct species of zebra? Thankfully, it didn’t go extinct millions of years ago like the ancestors of many of our modern animals did – it’s only been gone for about 141 years, give or take. The saddest part is that it went extinct before people realized it wasn’t just another zebra. But there’s a bright spot – breeders and scientists are trying to bring it back through selective breeding. They’ve actually been trying that for decades, but only in the past ten or fifteen years has it really started to become possible.
So, what does Hansa have to do with all this? First and foremost, their stuffed animals are one of a kind and so realistic, that you might think you’re looking at the real thing. Since Hansa actually bases their plushies off of photos of actual animals, this is as close as you’re going to get to a real life quagga until they figure out how to clone it, Jurassic Park style. At 15 inches long and 9 inches tall, this 19th century relic would love to find a loving home in your arms!
