Depending on whom you ask, and what their background is, you might be told any number of things about pigs or boars. They taste good, they’re unclean, they’re a symbol of power, or of ugliness or of greed, of laziness….etc. What is known however, is that they can be found in virtually every part of the world, except Antarctica, obviously. Ice Pigs didn’t really fly.
Where boars and domestics were native, they were widespread. Where they weren’t, they were introduced – like in the Americas. But Wilbur this isn’t. You’ll find no squeaky clean pink piggies here (or wolves or houses of sticks and straw either, for that matter). The wild boar is not another species, but for how different wild boar and domestic pigs are in temperament, they might as well be. Most important of all, if you ever were to encounter a mama boar with her piglets in the wild, or a startle a male boar, you’d better hope they find you ‘boring’. They will defend themselves and their kids very, very aggressively, and at least in the males’ case, with sharp, nasty pointy teeth, like a certain Python rabbit.
Cabin Critters catches the unique personality of the boar with their plush pig. With his warm brown color and curved white tusks, he makes the dangerous and bold male boar look positively adorable. What’s not to love about a walking hunk of ham and bacon that can run you down and ventilate you with its teeth?
